I mostly work with small non-profit organizations to find quick and affordable solutions that do not involve a lot of recurring expenses. I’m also more than happy to work with small businesses and individuals. If you’re making the most of a limited technology budget, I want to help!
Consulting →
Want to improve your presence on the internet, but have no idea where to start? Need affordable technology to run your operations? I will look at your current website, social media pages, and internal tech capabilities, then make recommendations for improvements based on your goals and budget. If you’re located in Illinois, we can arrange for a face-to-face meeting if you wish. However, many clients prefer conducting meetings by phone or email. Video conferencing via Skype or Google Talk is also an option.
Websites →
Don’t have a website? You need one. If you want people to know you exist, they need to be able to find you online, and that means having your own website. Other social media like Facebook and Twitter are important too, but a website is still your best option for creating an online home for yourself. I will work with you to find a webhost and create a site that is as simple or as elaborate as you need. Have a website but want an upgrade? I’ll work with you to determine the best way to turn your site into something special. Although I have experience with a number of content managements systems (Joomla, Drupal, etc.), I usually recommend that clients use WordPress. It’s free, easy to use, and works well for both small and large websites. Once your web hosting account is set up, I’ll install your WordPress site and create the initial pages you want. You’ll also get instructions on how to add and edit new pages to the website yourself. I can also create simple html-based sites for clients who don’t plan to update the content of their site regularly.
Social Media →
Although standalone websites are essential, Social networks like Facebook and twitter are too popular to ignore. I’ll help you set up pages on popular social networks, show you tools for updating them easily, and map out a strategies for using them effectively.
Prices →
My prices vary depending on the project type, but most of my work is focused on building basic, functional systems for people without a lot of money to spend. As a general rule, if you’re a small non-profit or entrepreneur with a limited budget, you’ll still be able to afford me.
